Why Animas High?

    Animas is a haven for my learning and progress. I am convinced it is the only place in Durango where I will be able to reach my full potential.
    You see, I was a very poor student in middle school. I hated being at school and I refused to do any homework. I was doing very poorly in almost all aspects of life. Then I went to a very small, personal, selective private school. This school did loads of good for me, especially in the academic realm. It challenged me, and really helped me learn to appreciate what my teachers did. Then I came home. Where could I go academically from there? I obviously couldn't go to DHS. I would fall right back into my old habits and mindset. I refuse to go to another private school. Then I thought of Animas. It was a small, more non-traditional school, and that is where I do well. I can be challenged, work with a close group of peers, and get to know my teachers really well. It felt like home after I was here for a week. There is no way I could do as well as I am now anywhere else in Durango.
